Biography

Dr Henk Parmentier originates from the Netherlands and has been trained both in The Netherlands and in the UK where he finalised his GP training. He is a practising London General Practitioner with a special interest in Mental Health, facilitating and conducting Primary Care research.
He works as a GP Clinical Lead in a London GP surgery and is a visiting professor at the Medical Faculty of the Nova University, Lisbon, Portugal.
He is a member of the WONCA (World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians) Working Party on Mental Health, Board Member and Treasurer of the WFMF (World Federation for Mental Health) and advisory Board Member of The Wellbeing Enterprise. He is also a foundation member of the World Dignity Project.
He is a co-author of "Companion to Primary Care Mental Health", and “Primary Care Mental Health in Older People”, a recently published textbook for primary care mental health in the elderly.
